I HAVE RETURNED!!! I was out in Bethesda, Ohio for the duration of the week, staying at SOWER work camp with my church youth group, in Epworth Park, if anyone knows where to find that, you can have a cookie. (Artemis: I KNOW WHERE IT IS! Can I have a cookie now?) No.
Okay, as I was saying, we were there for the week, and worked 4 of those days, and Wednesday we went to Dickinson's Cattle Ranch. Yes, it's in Ohio, and it's the largest cattle ranch in the nation. It's extremely surprising, considering I never took Ohio for a ranching state. There were three types of cows, and I only remember one of them, because they were the majority of their herd. Longhorn cattle. There was also another kind that originated in Africa, and the bull there had a stroke, and his head is seriously tilted. But he would eat out of your hand, and that was awesome.
We also went to Barkcamp State Park after the Cattle Ranch. I went out hiking with some of the first time trip-goers. It was a little crazy loud at times, but all over good fun.
On the other days, I was working my butt off on the work projects they gave us. Monday, I dug 3 foot deep holes for posts to start a ramp. Tuesday, I worked on roofing a house across the street from a school. Thursday, I stayed at the camp to dig a 4 foot deep hole for a telephone post. Friday, I took out a storm door and regular door, then put in a new door for the cook lady's house, then after lunch, I went back to the camp to roof one of the cabins.
After all that work, was the traditional goodbye ceremony, where you wash someone's feet, have communion, and the goodbye circle. This is the part where everyone cries and hugs everyone else, even my older brother, who is a senior. He doesn't cry alot, and I was amazed he cried. Okay, not really. He was leaving, and probably not coming back on the trip.
I'd also like to note that Colin needs to use his brain, on the off chance he finds this blog and reads this post. Or someone can tell him that, if you know who he is. And also poke him repeatedly.
OKAY! See ya later. Next week, I'm posting my awesome self-portrait! Be here for it!
